How to trouble shoot.
CoaLab,
Nycomatic, BFA
GENERAL:
Appliances such as refrigerators, centrifuges, and other motorized
appliances should NOT be on the same circuit with CoaLab, Nycomatic, BFA
or other computerized equipment. We suggest that this analyzer be
connected to a surge protected electrical circuit or a UPS device, to
protect it’s sensitive electrical components.
INCONSISTENT RESULTS:
After run is complete remove cuvette rings and visually inspect samples
for consistent volumes in each used cuvette. If the volumes are not the
same there may be incorrect settings of the sample tube type, or the
volume in the sample tube may be insufficient for the pipettor to obtain
correct volume. Example just because a sample tube is the same length as
a vaccu-tainer the sample plasma in a vaccu-tainer only goes about half the
length of the tube and the analyzer knows to stop before dipping into
the red blood cells. So if you are using a tube the length of a
vaccu-tainer and only have 1 to 2 ml of sample this may not be enough.
Check the levels of all reagents and patient samples then perform test
again.
Perform a system cleaning change to a fresh bottle
of washing solution, make up fresh controls and try again. If this fails
to correct the problem contact us for a service
call.
SYSTEM CRASHES:
The specific code telling what caused the crash is recorded in the file
named ESERR.DAT this file is located on the computer hard drive
C:. The directory is coalab\data. Exception: on a Nycomatic the
directory will be nycomat\data or on a BFA the directory will be bfa\data.
The last error will be located at the bottom of the file and will appear
as illustrated below.
Example error data file:
Release CoaLab V1.1 (2.26) from Jun 11 1999
Controller COALAB HBA V1.00 / THAU RTX51 V3.20
System error -3: Timeline execution error
00 15 80 87 04 43 88 03 61 89 04 6C
Below you will find links to error code tables. I
am not sure why but there are no error level 1 codes. Please look here
first for a lesson on decoding
the errors.
